How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds for a Crunchy, Waste-Free Snack

Before you bin those pumpkin seeds, here’s what you can do instead to keep food waste out of landfill:

Ú Feed them to the birds

Ú Plant them and live on pumpkin soup for months

Ú Or... make this delicious & healthy snack

 

DELICIOUS PUMPKIN SEED SNACK

  1. Just wash the excess flesh off the seeds (optional)
  2. Dry the seeds out on some paper towel over a few days
  3. Toss them in a bowl with a spray of olive oil and your favourite seasoning.
    • Try a SPOG mix (salt, pepper, onion, garlic) or chilli and garlic powder.
  4. Spread the seeds evenly on a baking tray and slow roast on 150C for 45 - 50 minutes, tossing every 10-15 minutes.
    • Add another light spray of olive oil if needed 
  5. Let them cool. They will crisp up nicely.

Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks, or longer in the fridge.

Perfect for snacking, adding to salads, or tossing into homemade trail mix.

Delicious. Crunchy. Waste-free.
